You can get custom metal rings made through a manufacturer that reviews your design, confirms the material and dimensions, develops a sample and agrees on the production specification. For a brand planning animal or ocean-inspired rings, Lumabara’s custom metal jewelry service is one option to discuss. We review original concepts and possible adaptations of existing styles.
The useful question is not just where a manufacturer is located. It is whether that manufacturer can explain how your particular ring will move from a reference image to an approved product.
Start with the kind of ring you want to make
Describe the product before asking for a general factory price. A sculpted animal head, an open band and a relief signet involve different decisions about shape and fit. Use a reference to explain the direction, then identify the parts you want to change.
For example, the Sitting Fox Ring uses split shoulders around a central figure. The Eagle Head Ring carries feather detail down the band. Both are animal rings, but a brief for one should not be used as a specification for the other.
Choose the development request that matches your idea
| Your starting point | What to ask Lumabara |
|---|---|
| An existing catalog ring | Confirm the available sizes, materials, finish and quantity for that exact product. |
| An existing style with changes | List each requested change and ask whether it requires new design, sample or mold work. |
| Your own ring concept | Send a sketch, reference or written brief for feasibility review and a development quotation. |
These routes describe the scope of work; they do not establish exclusivity, tooling ownership or permission to reproduce someone else’s design. If those matters are important, include them in the commercial discussion before development begins. Our private label versus custom jewelry article explains the broader sourcing choices.
Separate the metal from the appearance
Lumabara’s published material options include stainless steel, silver-plated cupronickel and gold-plated cupronickel. Suitable options are reviewed for the design and confirmed during quotation. A silver-tone product title describes appearance; it is not, by itself, a specification for sterling silver or stainless steel.
Tell us the intended color, surface character and base-material preference separately. Also state the sizing system, requested sizes and quantity for each option. An open ring still needs a defined fit; do not assume that its visible gap makes it suitable for every finger size.
Ask for a development scope before placing an order
A useful response should identify what is ready to quote and what remains unresolved. Ask for the applicable MOQ, unit-price basis, any development charges, sample arrangements and estimated schedule. For projects needing a new mold, our published fee is USD 80 per design; the quote specifies the inclusions and any additional design or sampling charges.
Read what the jewelry tooling fee covers before treating a setup charge as a complete development package. For your first budget, use the separate explanation of catalog prices and custom ring order costs.
Send a shortlist that can be reviewed
Choose one or two reference styles and explain your intended customer, essential design features and target dimensions. Add your material preference, quantity by size and finish, delivery country and target arrival date. If you do not have drawings, our guide to starting a custom ring from a photo shows what to send instead.
Then contact Lumabara with your ring project. We can review the request and confirm the next development steps for the proposed design.
